It is almost a miracle that modern teaching methods have not yet entirely strangled the holy curiosity of inquiry; for what this delicate little plant needs more than anything, besides stimulation, is freedom ~ Albert Einstein

| Welcome:
It gives me pleasure to teach with technology. More so it gives me delight to work with students, faculty and staff and show them how to harness technology in their teaching.
Students in both live and online classes are asked to create both e-porftolio (teaching website), as well as printed portfolios which will enhance their teaching. While most are nervous in the beginning, this is soon replaced with a feeling of empowerment. Many find the creativity promoted in the courses to be dare I say it "Enjoyable".
Most enter a course (online or live) an hope to get an "A". My course however is directed to a more important goal. Each course has the student apply for a fantastic teaching (fictitious) teaching position. Members of each class (online or live) is the candidate pool. Printed portfolio, e-portfolio and class participation are the means by which they would obtain that position. Typically the reward for winning the best of class ( and winning that ficticious position) is the A - A+. All win however in that hey walk away with a site that demonstrates their teaching abilities, content knowledge and lessons and activities for their future students.
Many students have found that the by product of their newly learned skills result in new job offers, job security and promotions. Some have become professors!!!!!
If you were a principal would you hire Marissa, a Bay Shore student in EdSE 606? Here is a letter of course review from an Online Student, who as of this date I have never met. Letter
