You've come to the old version of the site.  Probably because the thing you wanted to see isn't on the new site just yet.  Sorry about that, but enjoy this old version, and when you are ready click here to be taken to the new site, or here to be taken directly to the Transcontinental Blog!

Before the transcontinental though, it was all about:

That's right, I'm riding the Giro this year.  It will be a three week, 3000km+ solo challenge ride around Italy, following alongside the Giro d'Italia.

The Giro d'Italia is a three week long bike race that travels around Italy.  It is raced by professionals and gets a huge audience, with several million people attending at the roadside.  I will be riding beside the Giro, but instead of doing it on a super-light race bike and carrying nothing more than an energy bar, I will be doing it on a fully laden touring bike.  Just to make it a bit more of a challenge, I will be riding the transitions between stages as well as the stages themselves.  Best of all, as I ride I will be raising funds for a group of very important charities.

I can barely wait for the ride to get started.  But I have to, because it doesn't start until May.  And probably just as well, because I am flat out with getting myself into shape, getting the bike ready, and getting my house packed ready for a major move.  On top of that, over the next week or two this site is being completely rebuilt.  Pretty soon it will be a lot more interactive, with features like live tracking.  I think it will be great, and I am hoping that you will all enjoy it!

All of the Giro news will appear in the link above, but in the mean time, read on and check out the other links!
