I am Assistant Professor of Economics at New York University Abu Dhabi. I hold a BSc from the University of Bonn and a PhD from the London School of Economics. My primary field of expertise is development and my research focuses on two thematic areas, (i) data production and measurement and (ii) the allocation of public services in low- and middle-income countries. The geographic focus of my work is in Sub-Saharan Africa with ongoing and past projects in Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique and Zambia. I also act as lead academic for the International Growth Centre's Zambia program.
