Matt Guerin - Writer/Associate Producer, The Golden Pin (Award-winning short at the Inside Out Toronto Film Festival)
Matt Guerin is a Toronto-based screenwriter, producer, freelance journalist, TV news archivist, and blogger. He worked with Dublin-based ClearLight Films in 2007 on a short film he scripted entitled, Coughing Fit. He also partnered in 2008 with Toronto-based director Cuong Ngo to co-write The Golden Pin, for which he also served as Associate Producer. The Golden Pin won the jury prize for Best Canadian Short at the Inside Out Toronto LGBT Film & Video Festival in May 2009. Future plans include co-producing with Cuong Ngo, Igor Szczurko and Tom Yarith Ker a feature adaptation of 'The Golden Pin' in 2010, which Guerin will also co-write with Ngo.
Nicole Mendes - Programming Coordinator, Movieola - The Short Film Channel
Nicole Mendes is the programming coordinator for Movieola – The Short Film Channel. After receiving a BA from McGill University, she went on to do the TV, Writing and Producing Post-Grad at Humber College. Nicole has worked on various productions including Slice’s Style Her Famous, hosted by Jay Manuel and W’s He Said She Said, hosted by Ken Kostic and Mary Jo Eustace. She is currently producing a sketch-comedy website – www.thesketchers.com – and has another web-series in development. Nicole’s love of short films probably stems from the fact that she is short – as they say, like begets like.
