Work permit

Need to submit letter of engagement from Univeristy and $150 fee with application to the Canadian Consulate in your country
Renewing work permit: must apply before current permit expires:

OHIP
Eligibility - work permit for at least 6 months

applying - one document from each list to show:
    1) eligibility criteria: work permit; immigration/permanent residence card
    2) residency: pay slip; bank statement; phone bill etc.
    3) identity: passport; credit card; ontario driver's licence
OHIP can only be renewed once you receive the new work permit

UHIP

Compulsory for the waiting period.  Off-campus postdocs ARE ELIGIBLE as long as there is some affiliation with U of T

SIN
Apply at Service Canada (25 St. Clair Ave East)
will need original copy of work permit
SIN must be renewed to match expiry date of work permit
