Summer workshops are held at NWOSU's Alva, Oklahoma campus and hosted by Professor Steven Maier and AAPT Physics Teacher Resource Agents (PTRAs).
PTRA is a physics teacher professional development program started in 1985 by the American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT).
The first ToPPS workshop was held in July 2011 when 29 science teachers from all over Oklahoma explored and investigated physics concepts and shared physics teaching ideas in the topic areas of motion and forces. Here we all are:
The saga continued in July 2012 (ToPPS II or Part Deux), when 23 science teachers explored and investigated physics concepts and shared teaching ideas in the topic areas of Momentum and Energy. Here's our group picture from this year:
Once more in the summer of 2013 (ToPPS III), 31 science teachers gathered to develop their knowledge and skills and gain some classroom resources in the area of Electricity and Magnetism.
Then in the summer of 2014 (ToPPS IV), 23 science teachers met to learn about and explore Waves.
All the summer workshops were held at the science building and hosted by Professor Steven Maier.
