My name is Tommy Thompson. I am Donny Thompson's brother. Donny is currently on the Big Brother show on CBS. Courtney Cavanaugh has created a site begging for people to send Donny money. Donny and I were raised by parents who taught us that we had to work to earn a living, We don't believe in taking handouts. I am disabled and I work for a living.
Donny comes from a very religious family and Donny is also a very religious person. Anyone that follows Donny on the live feeds knows that he loves to read the Bible. One of his favorite versus in the Bible comes from 1 Timothy 6:10 "For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with." Donny would 100% disprove what this website is doing.
The people that are begging for money think they know Donny by what they've watched in a couple months. I have known Donny his entire life. The number one thing in Donny's life is God and the number two thing in Donny's life is his family. This website is causing people to turn against Donny's family. They are slandering the family name. Donny never would support anything that would harm his family. As long as this website is up and running people will continue to bash his family. By law this is referred to as defamation of character. This site is slandering Donny's entire family, which includes Donny. Below are a couple examples of Courtney Cavanaugh's followers that bash the Thompson name. She's becoming like a cult leader that knows how to turn people against people that love God and believe in God's word. Our family is not trying to force our beliefs on anyone, we just wish these people would respect ours.
Beware of sites popping up on the Internet claiming they are collecting money for an individual without doing a lot of background research. My brother is locked away from all communication from the rest of the world and yet there's a Facebook and Twitter account claiming to be Donny and people are falling for it. (https://www.facebook.com/donnybb16 & https://twitter.com/DonnyThompsonBB) So stay on alert, don't believe everything you read and always think before you click. You may become the next victim of someone gaining access to your hard earned money.

Courtney Cavanaugh allows people to post things that slanders Donny's family. Courtney Cavanaugh has become obsessed with someone on a game and she wants people to send money to her obsession. She apparently don't know much about how Donny and his family believe deeply in 1 Timothy 6:10.
I originally said, I can't wait till Donny gets home to show him how rude this woman has been to his family. This woman and her followers made fun of them and even cursed them. I have been capturing screen shots of her website and saving her emails. He will be so disappointed. -- However, I have changed my mind about wanting to show any of this to Donny. I don't won't him to worry him about any of this mess. I want to try to clear it up before he gets home. I want his Big Brother experience to be a positive experience that he can remember for the rest of his life.
Please remember that Donny is playing a game, the game of Big Brother. He is earning money the way the game was/is designed to earn money. If you vote for him to be America's favorite, I would be very greatful and honored because he will be winning money by the rules of the game. Big Brother handles the money that house guest win and receive. The house guest are not awarded money by some Internet beggar or Internet panhandler. If there are no America's Favorite Player this year then remember this, Donny has won a good amount of money on the Team America missions. Just knowing the viewers selected him to be a part of Team America will make him feel good.
I am not a part of social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, Vine, or etc. I am very limited at spreading my message online. I would greatly appreciate anyone that shares the link to my website to help me spread my message. Also, if anyone knows how to shut that site down, I would greatly appreciate it and I know Donny would too!!!

If Courtney Cavanaugh created GoFundMe site with good intentions, I appreciate the thought behind it; however, Donny would never take a handout from anyone. He was not playing Big Brother to win money. (Yes, he was trying to win, but the money was not the main goal.) He was playing Big Brother because he (and I) love the game. When CBS wanted America to know more about Donny they came to my house. They interviewed my parents, my sisters, and myself. They did not go to Courtney Cavanaugh and her followers houses to interview them. I am the one that knows my brother's routines and the things he likes and dislikes. I am the one who helped my brother fill out his Big Brother application. I am the one that CBS contacts with things that pertain to Donny. The people of the Big Brother show would always call me when Donny was going to be emotional on TV so that I could warn my mom in case someone talked to her about the show. They always wanted to protect Donny's family. I am in charge of Donny's business while he is away on the show. If Donny trusted me with everything he owns, then the people that read this should trust me when I say that Donny wouldn't want you to give away your hard earn money. Instead, he would want you to help someone in need from your own community.
Think about this, Donny turned down a $5,000 challenge because it would have forced him to lie and caused him to hurt Zach's game. Hurting Zach's game wasn't worth $5.000. On the TV show, it showed Donny promising Zach he wouldn't vote him out; however, it failed to show Zach in the backyard telling Donny to vote him out so it wouldn't put a bigger target on his back. Then Zach asked if he could help Donny anyway. --- That's what Donny and I love about Big Brother. --- People sometimes show that they care more about others than they do the about money. Zach and Donny both care(d) for one another. They were TRUE friends. Friends will last a lifetime. Pow Pow protected Donny when she was in the house. She would put his game before hers. She had an amazing heart too. Brittany made my brother feel normal and like he belonged in the house. She never treated him like an outcast. I loved watching their innocent ice cream dates. They also had a true friendship in the house.
Jocasta and Donny were like friends from the same neighborhood. They both shared a common belief. When Jocasta was sick and Donny won the veto for her, it made him feel good to do that for her. The feeling he got was worth more than money. I also miss Donny and Hayden talking. I miss them lying on the floor looking at price tags of objects in the house or just looking at the ceiling. I liked it when Hayden would tell people that Donny was his dad. Even though Donny wasn't in Hayden's alliance, Hayden always protected Donny. This season had people in the house that cared about Donny. That's what he will notice when he watches all the episodes that I've recorded for him. That will mean more to Donny than any amount of money.
Where Donny and I are from, we like to help people just for the joy of helping someone. We don't expect pay in return. We earn our living by working. It's better to be humble than to be greedy.
If you've ever watched Donny's interviews, he focuses on developing friendships in the house. He said he would rather be loved by America than to win the $500,000.00. Donny told Jeff Schroeder during his eviction interview that he was chosen to play Big Brother and when he walked over that threshold he became a winner. (Please watch Donny's eviction interview and listen closely at what he tells Jeff around 22 minutes into the interview.)
I appreciate all the support that America and Canada has given Donny (I didn't say money). He will be so amazed and so grateful.
Donny will soon be back home to his family and friends. I want to make sure that his normal routine is that of what it used to be because Donny is a person of routine. I don't want him to hear that people talked negative about his family while he was away. That would worry him.
Once again, I want to thank all the people that have supported my brother this year on Big Brother. Win or lose it doesn't matter, because the love he will receive from his fans could never be replaced by any amount of money. That makes him the true WINNER.
