Law & medicine: health law
Fall 2009     LAW7420

This is a four-hour survey of the major federal and state laws and doctrines that affect the way health-care goods and services are organized, financed, and delivered in the United States.

This year in particular we will have as our sub-text the health-reform debate currently underway in Washington and around the country.  Our primary focus, however, will continue to be on the impact of law upon the many relationships among patients, physicians (and other providers), hospitals, insurers and managed-care entities, the states, and the federal government.
