The Spring Gathering!

18th Annual
Gathering of Men
in North Carolina
Hands
The Magic of the Village

REAL MAGIC, isn't that simply what can't be explained? Men gathering in a supportive community somehow create a special synergy of shared experience that opens us to trust, change, belonging and forgiveness. In a world of perplexing problems in ourselves and the larger society, this is both a mystery and a rare gift.

WE INVITE YOU to join us for a weekend to explore the Magician.  As Robert Moore says,  the Magician is "inner work, awareness, initiation and healing."

EXPERIENCE the vitality of wonderful men coming together for a mythopoetic weekend that includes story, music, workshops, poems, spirit and support.

WELCOME the indefinable yet meaningful by connecting to yourself, others and the world around you at this year's Gathering of Men.

Event Particulars:

THIS EVENT is planned and led by men seasoned in facilitating men's retreats and working with men through deep personal experiences.

THE SCHEDULE for the weekend will include large group gatherings with stories and poems, small group sessions, many workshops to choose from, music, song, and enough free time to explore the beautiful camp and lake.

SIGN IN will be from 5 to 7 PM on Friday. The program will begin at 7PM.

CLOSING will be at 2 PM on Sunday.

CAMP CHESTNUT RIDGE is situated among 340 acres of beautiful wooded hills, wetlands, and a 9 acre lake. Cabins are dormitory style with bunks, toilets, and showers - or bring a tent and camp out! Please bring your own bedding.

MEALS: Meals will be provided from Saturday breakfast through Sunday lunch. Fruit will be available for snacking - but there will be no snack table this year.  Bring a bag meal for Friday night if you haven't eaten before the weekend begins.

SPREAD THE WORD: We won't be sending out paper brochures this year except by request to the registrar.  Since we rely primarily on networking to get the word out, if you know of other men who would enjoy and benefit from this weekend, let them know about it.  You can use the forwarding link at the bottom of this email or direct them to the   Triangle Men's Center website.

Young Men

Young men (ages 13 and up) are encouraged to attend. We are fortunate to draw on the experience of the Joshua Project in planning ways to integrate our events with youth.

We are asking that young men 17 and under be accompanied by a male parent or guardian or an assigned male sponsor. There is a separate form for young men to submit with the registration that additionally includes a permission and waiver of liability section for those under age 18. You'll find the form, details and requirements by clicking on the link at the upper right of this email. Contact the registrar if you'd like more information.

Workshops:

Every year we have wonderful workshops to choose from including topics like men's issues, poetry, and dynamic breathwork. Our workshops are led by the extraordinary talent of our participants. If you have an idea for a workshop you'd like to organize, please contact us atinfo@trianglemenscenter.org and put the word "workshop" in the subject line.

A few comments from previous years:

This time was profound, special...and even sacred.  I will be back for as many years as I can come.

This was the most powerful weekend I have ever had.  It aided in a transition that I have been struggling with.  The openness of the community allows for consultation on any conflict.  I love the atmosphere and I cannot imagine not returning.  I will miss it when I leave.

There has been no  other weekend for me for the past 15 years with as much heart filled significance as the annual NC men's gathering.
