Welcome to the 2019 Catalina 22 National's. National's will be held the week of June 1st through the 6th on Fort Gibson Lake, Oklahoma. We are extremely excited to be hosting at Tsa-La-Gi. This is the 50th year of the production of the Catalina 22 boats, so we are hoping to have 50 boats on the starting line.

TSA-LA-GI Yacht Club at Jackson Bay on Fort Gibson Lake in Oklahoma and the Catalina 22 National Sailing Association,
invite all Catalina 22 owners to attend.

The notation “[DP]” in a rule in the NOR means that the penalty for a breach of that rule may, at the discretion of the protest committee, be less than disqualification.

1. Rules

    The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing.

2. Eligibility and Entry

    2.1 Entry is open to all Catalina 22s and their skipper/helmsman that meet eligibility criteria as set forth in the Catalina 22 National Sailing Association Class Rules.

    2.2 Eligible boats/skippers may enter by completing the online entry form at www.tlg-yachtclub.com or print the attached form and sending it, together with the required fee, to Duncan McBride 210 S. 5th St. Jenks,           Ok. 74037

3. Fleets

    3.1 Gold Fleet is the Catalina 22 National Sailing Association Championship Fleet. The National Champion will be the overall winner of Gold Fleet. No other fleet is competing for the championship trophy.

    3.2 Silver Fleet is open to competitors that have not previously won a Regional or National event in any regatta. Silver Fleet is intended for competitors with limited racing experience or other limitations that would             prevent them from being competitive in Gold Fleet. Competitors that have racing experience should consider registering in the Gold Fleet, regardless of previous wins. 
          If less than 3 boats register for Silver Fleet the fleet will not form and registered competitors for Silver Fleet will be given the option to compete in Gold Fleet or refund of entry fees. In the event a Silver Fleet                does not form, a competitor wishing to compete in Spinnaker Fleet must register in Gold Fleet.

    3.3 Spinnaker Fleet: This fleet is open to all competitors who are also entered in either Gold or Silver Fleet.
          If less than 3 boats registered for Spinnaker Fleet the fleet will not form. Registered competitors for Spinnaker Fleet will be refunded that portion of the entry fee.

4. Fees
    Required registration fees are as follows and includes the skipper only:
    Gold Fleet: $230.00
    Silver Fleet: $230.00
    Spinnaker Fleet: Addl. $35.00

    Each additional crew member is $20.00

    Late Fee: after May 1st. 2019 is $30.00

    The following meals are per person:
    Sunday: $25.00 Opening Ceremony (Steak Dinner at Club)
    Thursday: $25.00 Closing Ceremony and awards (Catered BBQ dinner with 2
    Drink tickets at Three Forks Marina) 

5. Schedule

     5.1 Registration

    5.2 Sail Measurement and Boat Inspection

    5.3 Dates of Racing

    Date: Monday, June 3 through Thursday, June 6

    5.4 Number of Races Scheduled

    Gold Fleet: 7

    Silver Fleet: 7

    Spinnaker Fleet: 4

    More races may be held if time and sailing conditions allow.

    5.5 On the last day of racing no warning signal will be made 1500

6. Measurement

    6.1 Each boat shall produce a valid National Association Measurement Certificate prior to launching.
    6.2 Boats unable to comply with Catalina 22 National Sailing Association Class Rule “J. MEASUREMENT” may be inspected, measured, and issued a certificate at the National Regatta. Boats requiring                                measurement under this rule shall not rig until inspected.

7. Sailing Instructions

    7.1 Sailing Instructions will be available on the Catalina 22 National Sailing Association Website at http://www.catalina22.org and on the host website at www.tlg-yachtclub.com.
    7.2 Sailing Instructions will also be available at check in.

    8.2 Attachment A shows the location of the regatta.

9. The Course

    The course will be windward/leeward with an offset and a gate. The diagram in Attachment C shows the course, including approximate angles between legs, the order in which the marks are to be passed, and the     side on which each mark is to be left. Marks may be tetrahedrons, tomatoes, or balls as supplied by the host organization. 

10. Scoring

    10.1 The scoring system will be A2, except that no score will be excluded.
    10.2 Three races are required to be completed to constitute a regatta in Gold Fleet.
    10.3 One race is required to be completed to constitute a regatta in Silver Fleet and Spinnaker Fleet.

11. Berthing

    Boats shall be kept in their assigned places when not racing. [DP]

12. Haul-Out Restrictions

    With the exception of a boat that may be in danger of sinking, keelboats shall not be hauled out during the regatta except with and according to the terms of prior written permission of the race committee. In the            event a boat is hauled out due to being in danger the skipper/helmsman shall notify the race committee as soon as reasonably possible. [DP]

13. Diving Equipment and Plastic Pools

    Underwater breathing apparatus and plastic pools or their equivalent shall not be used around keelboats between the preparatory signal of the first race and the end of the regatta. An exception to the use of an           underwater breathing apparatus may be made, with prior written approval from the race committee, in the event of keel/keel cable damage. [DP}

14. Radio Communications

    Except in an emergency, a boat that is racing shall not make voice or data transmissions and shall not receive voice or data communications that is not available to all boats. [DP] Radio channel will be 72

15. Prizes

    15.1 Trophies will be awarded for at least First, Second and Third places in each fleet. 
    15.2 The Catalina 22 National Sailing Association will award the Betty Gay Clements trophy to the highest placing female skipper, in accordance with its deed.
    15.3 The Catalina 22 National Sailing Association will award the Dick King Memorial Trophy to the highest placing Catalina 22 Sport, in accordance with its deed.

16. Disclaimer of Liability

    Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See RRS 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in                  conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
