This October's Mission of the Month is the Burlington High School chapters of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Brothers and Sisters in Christ.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) is a student organization at Burlington High School and affiliated with the national organization, FCA, out of Kansas City, Missouri.  FCA serves the needs of students and student-athletes that are interested in sports, band and cheerleading.  We host 2 meetings per month.  We host and co-host many events throughout the year including:  See You at the Pole, Fields of Faith, Friday Night 5th Quarters, DriveOne, KC Wolf Assembly and more!!  We also perform community service focused on God's Storehouse, ECKAN and area youth groups!

BASIC stands for Brothers and Sisters in Christ.  Students lead the group and do the planning and preparation with support from adult volunteers who work at the school.  This group was started by a high school student many years ago.  Her desire was to make a place in her school for young people to gather and grow in their faith.  BASIC is a safe space for students to talk about their faith, learn about the Bible, and have fun.  BASIC is also a missional group, with a desire to lead kids to Christ and involve them in the ministry.  BASIC sponsors “See You At The Pole” each year in concert with FCA.  BASIC also participates in Fields of Faith.
