Step 3 - Learn and Share a Resource
Step 4 - Integrate and Share a Lesson
Sorry -- registration for the DIY tech class is now CLOSED.
Click on the Emerging Technology page for a brief description of each Emerging Technology Cluster with examples of tools within each group.
Decide which cluster looks like it would best apply to your subject matter and students.and choose ONE tool to learn how to use.
Once you have decided which tool you will learn about, document your completion of Step Two by starting the Project Completion Tracker.
There are dozens of videos, online help forums, etc. that you can use to help you learn about your identified emerging technology tool. Creating your own learning plan is part of the flexibility of the DIY training. Almost every tool in the emerging technologies listed will include some sort of a help menu and most will include links to tutorials including step by step instructions. Explore! Don't be afraid to make mistakes! Chances are you will learn as much by your miscues as by the things that come easily. If, however, you become truly lost or decide that you have chosen a tool completely over your head, feel free to regroup and choose a different tool. As always, if you run into a snag, feel free to email Cindy T. at tmslibrarian (at) gmail.com for help. Also, if you decide that DIY tech training is NOT your cup of tea, you may still attend the face to face technology training on August 5th.
Document your completion of Step Three by submitting the form on the Submit a Learning Resource page. Include a link (if applicable) and description of at least one resource you found helpful in learning about your emerging technology tool. Once you have submitted the learning resource, check off Step Three on the Project Completion Tracker page.
Create a lesson centered on your content that utilizes the emerging technology you chose. Use any lesson plan template that works for you.
Log in to this web site using the user-name and password sent to you when you registered (see small "log in" link at the bottom of the page) and then go to the Completed Lessons.page and follow the instructions on uploading your lesson plan.
Return once again to the Project Completion Tracker and check off that you have completed Step Four.
Once your assignments have been verified, you will see a check mark under the verification section of the Project Completion Tracker that lets you know you are all done.
Please feel free to contact Cindy Turner: tmslibrarian (at) gmail (dot) com (Note: I'm writing my email address like that to prevent web page harvesters from getting it to put on any spam lists).
