Freezing flash solution

When watching a Flash movie full-screen it can happen that the movie freezes. This is with Nvidia as well with ATI videocards. To solve this issue, there's a simple solution for it which needs to be done using the terminal. The solution of this issue contains 2 parts, both described here below:

Part 1:
The first thing to do is creating a file:
  • Open a terminal
  • Type the following 2 commands:
    sudo mkdir /etc/adobe
    sudo gedit /etc/adobe/mms.cfg
  • When gedit opened the file, copy and paste the following line into that file:
    OverrideGPUValidation=true
If this line is already added in the file, don't change anything.
Now close and save the file

Now restart the webbrowser and try to play a Flash movie. If everything run smoothly, the above fix helped. If not, continue to part 2.
Part 2:
Part two consist of editing the starter of the preferred webbrowser. Before the command, copy and paste the following line: env LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libGL.so.1.
As example:
If Google is the preferred browser, the launcher look like this:
/opt/google/chrome/google-chrome --enable-plugins %U

Adding the above mentioned command line under part 2, the launcher should then look like this:
env LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libGL.so.1 /opt/google/chrome/google-chrome --enable-plugins %U

Close the starter and restart the webbrowser. Check if any Flash video plays smoothly now in full-screen mode.
