Firefox Language

With each new update of Firefox, the language setting of the menu-/taskbar changes back to the original English language. Not a problem when the standard language must be English, but this can be really annoying for non-English spoken Firefox users.

To get the correct language for Firefox, visit this page: https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/.
Select the correct version and double click on the folder.
For Linux click on the following folder:
  • linux-i686 for 32-bit Ubuntu versions
  • linux-x86_64 for 64-bit Ubuntu versions
Then double click on the folder xpi and search for the correct language package. By double clicking on the required language package the installation procedure starts immediately. After downloading and installing the language package, Firefox must be restarted. After the restart the default language is changed from English to the required language.
