Welcome to the Personal Website of Tim Pawl, an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the University of Saint Thomas, in St. Paul, MN.

My name is Tim Pawl (CV). I am a faculty member in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Saint Thomas, in St. Paul, MN.

My primary areas of interest are Contemporary and Thomistic metaphysics, and philosophy of religion. My current work is on the metaphysics required for traditional theism, truthmaker theory, and modality.  I am writing a manuscript in which I argue that the philosophical objections to the traditional Christian doctrine of the incarnation fail.

I am the husband of another philosopher; her name is Faith Glavey Pawl. I am the proud father of one son and three daughters. They are: Henry Douglas Pawl, Mary Sandra Pawl, Beatrice Katherine Pawl, and Edith Effie Pawl.
