Yannick Timmer

Welcome to my Website!

I am an Economist at the International Monetary Fund. Before starting at the IMF, I obtained my PhD from Trinity College Dublin in 2018. During my PhD, I was also a visiting student at Princeton University and had positions at the European Systemic Risk Board, the Deutsche Bundesbank and the Central Bank of Ireland. My research covers a wide range of issues in macroeconomics and finance. My work has been published in leading academic journals such as the Journal of Financial Economics and The Review of Financial Studies. I am ranked among the Top 25 Young Economists whose first publication is 5 or fewer years ago according to IDEAS RePEc. The German Capital Magazin named me Top 40 under Top 40 in 2019 and 2020.
