Yannick Timmer

I am a Principal Economist at the Federal Reserve Board, where I have worked across Monetary Affairs and Research & Statistics, including in Macro-Financial Analysis, Capital Markets, and Prices and Wages.

Before joining the Fed, I worked at the International Monetary Fund, including on the U.S. team and the World Economic Outlook. I have also worked at the ECB, Deutsche Bundesbank, and Central Bank of Ireland.

I hold a Ph.D. in Economics from Trinity College Dublin and was a visiting doctoral student at Princeton University. My research sits at the intersection of macroeconomics and finance and has been published in leading journals including the Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, and Journal of Monetary Economics. I have been named one of Capital Magazine’s ‘Top 40 under 40’ and recognized by Handelsblatt and BCG as a leading thinker.
