Bibhuti Nath Gupta

Bibhuti Nath Gupta (1st February 1925 - 16th January 2011). My Father was born in a village named Kurashi, in Palong Subdivision of Faridpur District of undivided India. He was one of the survivors of the Bengal famine of 1943, the Partition of India and had also witnessed the last Journey of Rabindranath Tagore. As a teacher, he was very passionate and devoted towards his profession. He was attached to New Alipore Multipurpose School from the day of its initiation and retired from that school in 1990. He was an avid reader, often writing articles and composing poems.

He was a vocalist with profound knowledge about Indian Classical Music and other forms of Bengali Music like Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Geeti, Atul Prashad and Rajani Kanta. He was an admirer of Ustad Abdul Karim Khan, Bhimsen Joshi, Bade Gulam Ali Khan, Sachin Dev Burman, Subinoy Roy, Suchitra Mitra, to name a few.

Indira Gupta

Indira Gupta (20th August 1933  - 7th February 2009). My Mother was born in a village in Mymensingh District of undivided India. A perfect homemaker and a fervent reader, she was also a published author. Her articles and poems were published in different magazines like Sandesh, Desh and Jugantar. 

She got an opportunity to visit China in 1963 on behalf of the Students Health Home, as a member of a delegation and spent two years there. She was a music lover and was very fond of Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Geeti, Atul Prashad and Rajani Kanta Sen.

Gopa Gupta


I got married to Gopa in 1996. She is a nice loving and caring mother, a perfect housewife. She was born in Raiganj, Uttar Dinajpur District in 1974. She is the younger daughter of Mihir Ranjan Sen Gupta and Ratna Sen Gupta and has Graduated in Arts (Hons. in Political Science) from Raiganj College under North Bengal University. She is also a good singer.

Damayanti Gupta

Our daughter Damayanti (Tupur) was born in the year 1998. Presently she is studying Education (Hons.) in Loreto College, Kolkata. She is a voracious reader and fond of music, dance and good movies. 


Leaving our rented house at Kasba, we moved to our own flat at Brahmapur near Bansdroni (Garia) in May 1998 where Tupur was  born.
