Hi! I'm Tilak Gupta, a music lover and performer by passion, an Information Technology Specialist by profession.

I was born in 1967, in Calcutta or (as she goes by her Bengali name now) Kolkata. The erstwhile capital of the British Raj and the eternal ‘City of Joy’ in Dominique Lapierre’s novel, this is one city that has often been the target of bad press. Frequently misconstrued as huge slum, especially after Lapierre had set his novel in a fictitious slum the city, named ‘Anandapur’ (literally meaning ‘Abode of Joy’), Kolkata has quite heartlessly been discarded as unworthy of admiration, let alone wonder.

However, to us Calcuttans; pardon us for we haven’t yet managed to transform into Kolkatan’s just yet despite the not-so-recent re-christening of the city; Kolkata is home. And, no we aren’t unapologetically bias about the city. To understand the true heart of this ‘Tilottoma’ all you need to do is look closely. You’ll find she’s beautiful and vibrant, unique in the confluence of yesterday’s splendour and tomorrow’s promises. Even after all these years, I am grateful to be living in this city and am loving every moment of it.

My education started in a Nursery School named "Alor Parosh" in Kasba. Then I attended Jagadbandhu Institution (Class-I to Class-V) followed by New Alipore Multipurpose School (Class-VI to Class XII). I completed my Graduation in Commerce from Netaji Nagar Day College under Calcutta University. I have also earned an Advanced Post Graduation Diploma in Computers & Information Management from Uptron Academu of Computer Learning. Click here for more about my family.

Through these pages, I wish to share my music and my interests with you.
