General Guidelines
Course policy:
Cases of immoral behavior will be dealt with STRICT punishment. NO EXCEPTIONS.
The objective of a course is to learn, and see some applications.
Communication for the course (classes, exam schedules, etc.) will happen mainly through emails.
Continuous feedback on the course is welcome (after the mid-sem or a quiz). You are free to send an email.
There will be quizzes (maybe surprise ones too), a mid-semester exam and an end-semester exam.
There is NO weightage of attendance on grades.
Except for reasons beyond student's control, every student is expected to attend all sessions (lectures, tutorials, examinations, quizzes) of the course.
Grading policy:
All answer sheets stay with the instructor. Students will be shown answer sheets only during mentioned office hours.
An answer sheet will be re-checked only if a correct solution is marked incorrect.
No requests for more marks/mercy marks will be entertained.
In case more mistakes are found in the solution, marks may decrease after re-checking.
Partial marking: If some part of the proof/argument is correct, you may get partial credit for that.
Important:
No mercy pleas for better grades will be entertained in the end. Please drop the course if you think the course is not suitable for you.
If copying is established you will get an F in the course.
Grading scheme: Depends on course. Please check course webpage.
Grading is usually relative, and based on quantile scores.
