Pixelating Vector Line Art

Given a vector line drawing, we wish to find the corresponding pixel drawing that uses smooth single-pixel wide paths.

Our pixelation algorithm creates more visually pleasing curves than naive rasterization algorithms by shifting the curves then sorting pixel spans by slope to remove jaggies and blips. We conducted a user study to compare our results with hand-drawn pixel art as well as rasterization results from commercial software.
