Judith Ellers has over a 40 year history of exhibiting her art. She holds a BFA and MFA in painting with a minor in printmaking from Rochester Institute of Technology. She has a broad base in several media from her experiences in teaching at Rochester Institute of Technology, and the University of South Carolina. These include oil, acrylic and watercolor, book making, photography and digital art. She has won several photography awards and is included in the publication “100 Artists among Us”. Her art has been exhibited at the Memorial Art Gallery, Rochester, NY; Spartanburg Art Museum, Spartanburg, SC; Larry Elder Gallery, Charlotte SC; Southern Vermont Center, Manchester, VT; Cooperstown Art Association, Cooperstown, NY.; along with many others. Her works are in corporate and private collections throughout the United States.
Judith Ellers is inspired by many elements. She is drawn to color and form most of all in creating her works of art. The natural environment is often an inspiration for the beginning of her image making. Combing her love of color and her photography she currently is creating works that often have a very painterly feeling. Working with a digital camera and an iPad her works often evoke a wonderful sense of joy. They transport us to another world.
