Pork with Apples, Sage and Onions, Slow Cooker

Total time: 7 hours

Ingredients:

  • 2 boneless pork chops, about 1" thick, cut in half
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 rib celery, chopped
  • 1 apple, peeled, chopped
  • 6 - 8 sage leaves, torn in half
  • 1 cup (8oz, 250ml) cider
  • 1/2 chicken stock cube, or equivalent in granules / jelly
  • 2 tbs tapioca

Instructions:

  • Put onions, celery, apple, sage in the slow cooker.
  • Sprinkle with tapioca and stock cube
  • Top with chops in a single layer.
  • Pour cider over.
  • Cover and cook, low heat, for 3 hours.
  • Uncover, quickly give it a stir and turn the chops.
  • Cover and cook for 3 1/2 hours.
