The Science Fair is an opportunity to take part in an
exciting event that encourages students to think like
young scientists and engineers.
THIS IS NOT FOR A GRADE AND THERE IS NO
1st, 2nd, 3rd PLACE AWARDS!
Signup deadline is March 1st
(If you don't know your project details yet that is ok, you can always update the title of your project later)
->Fair will be March 8th, from 6:30 to 8:00, (Judging between 6:30 - 7:30) ->Students may tour the science fair with their class during the day, but the booths will not have students at them.
-> You can setup your projects in the gym March 8th 7:30am to 8:30am
Due to the 2nd grade musical on March 7th, we are unable to get into the gym until the morning on March 8th. If this time does not work for you, please contact Erin Sturtz to make other arrangements.
-> March 8th, scientist arrive at 6:15pm and be ready to go by 6:30 so we can get all the projects judged

This is an optional school event for all K – 5th grade Three Oaks students. ->The Expo is not a part of the curriculum and projects will not be graded. ->This in an informal Science Fair, unlike traditional Science Fairs: -> There will be no competition -> Parents are encouraged to help their children -> You may work alone or with other students on a team project -> Participants can use the Scientific Method if applicable for the chosen project "Engineering" related project or inventions may not f it this format, that is OK. "How something works" projects are ok too. -> A "Judge" will briefly talk to each participant during the event about their project and ward them a certificate and ribbon Students are encourage to stay near their project displays from 6:30pm to 7:30pm
to present and explain their project to people attending the Science Fair -> HAVE FUN!
The Science Fair will not interfere with the curriculum, but teachers are encouraged to use the Fair
as a teaching tool.
