This year's seasonal holiday concert will include a multitude of holiday classics, both secular and sacred.  The centerpiece of the celebration will be a performance of John Rutter's "Gloria."  Composed in 1974 on a commission, Gloria is a classically-styled musical setting of parts of the Latin Gloria.  Rutter structured the text in three movements and scored for choir, brass, percussion, and organ.

A sweetly funny coming-of-age tale, 13 tells the story of Evan Goldman and his impending Bar Mitzvah.  The stories that come to life here are ageless, the emotions they explore are timeless, the laughter and the memories they provide are priceless.  The score is by Tony Award-winning composer Jason Robert Brown (Parade, The Last Five Years, Bridges of Madison County).

This performance will take the audience on an historical journey, featuring the evolution of music as we know it. Offerings will range from Renaissance madrigals, to sea shanties, to patriotic tunes from early America and even Mozart’s “Dies Irae” and “Lacrymosa” from his Requiem. Please join us on this inspiring voyage through musical history.

The Public Domain Show, an original show with script by Morgan Goodley and featuring music selected solely from the public domain, is the first show for the TAF Performance Group as part of the newly-formed Thistle Rose Academy of Arts.
