who am i? day 7: Editing

Making a rough cut

1. Your Homework is OPTIONAL.

2. You can choose to make a ROUGH CUT.

3. Or, you can keep working on your "who am i" project.

4. Figure out which software you are using. Visit the resources page if needed.

5. Watch the tutorial on the specific editing software you are using.

6. View your storyboard.

7. Identify the start of your story with scene 1.

8. Ask yourself, is this going to start with a clip, music, black screen, text, pictures, what is the FIRST thing my audience will see?

9. Now identify the end of your story with scene 6.

10. Ask yourself, is this going to end with a clip, music, black screen, text, pictures, what is the LAST thing the audience will see?

11. Once you have established the "CRUST" or start/end of your project, follow your storyboard.

12. Lay clips in order of your storyboard.

13. a "ROUGH CUT" is simply the clips in order telling your story with no effects or extras.

14. Don't worry about adding transitions.

15. Don't worry about adding effects.

16. Don't worry about adding text.

17. Don't worry about color correction.

18. You can add music.

19. Try to put together a very raw version of your story by arranging clips in order until you feel your story is complete.

20. Rename your rough cut to First Name, Last Name, Period, Project Title and upload to the folder.
