"Trees Please"

Here are examples of properties without trees in the boulevard strips.  Trees increase beauty, stormwater control, wildlife habitat, and property value.  The Third Ward Tree Program is intended to help homeowners and landlords plant trees in the boulevards of our neighborhood.

Third Ward Tree Planting Program

With the support of the City of Eau Claire Forestry Division and UW-Eau Claire students, the Third Ward Neighborhood Tree Committee is starting a subsidized tree planting program this fall.  For a contribution of $60 homeowners and landlords can have an approved tree worth more than $120 planted in the boulevard strip of their property.

Several species are available in this unique opportunity to work with the City's purchasing power to maximize buying power and to maintain the beauty of our neighborhood with the expected loss of trees to the Emerald Ash Borer.

While a two-year commitment to watering is expected, landlords can contribute an additional $20 towards our “adopt-a-tree” program, where we hope to find close neighbors willing to water when property owners are unable to do so.
