I am Thien, a PhD Candidate from Singapore Management University (SMU) working on multi-agent planning and inference algorithms. I publish my research in AI conferences, i.e. NIPS, AAMAS, AAAI, AISTATS, etc.
Currently, my research focuses on how to find policies for autonomous agents in dynamic environments. Some applications include to infer human mobility pattern based on crowd movement dataset, more detail in my AISTATS 2016 paper, and optimize moving policy of agents in traffic domain to avoid congestion, more detail in my AAAI 2017, NIPS 2017 papers. Currently, I am working to extend this collective framework to deep reinforcement learning algorithms.
I got my master degree from SMU in 2014 with the thesis on Cost Sharing mechanism design for taxis sharing system. Specifically, I proposed fair/incentive compatible mechanism to split the cost when multiple passengers with different origin-destination share the same taxi.
Besides, I spent a fraction of my time in SMU to study Distributed Constraint Optimization Problems (DCOPs), an example of application domains is coordinating multiple autonomous sensors distributed over space to maximize some target coverage.
Before joining SMU, I got my Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Hanoi University Of Science, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
