NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP/NewsChannel 5) - A community hockey rink will be part of the city's new mixed-use complex at the Global Mall at the Crossings in southeast Nashville, Mayor Karl Dean and the Nashville Predators announced Monday.
ANTIOCH, Tenn. — Some students attending Nashville State Community College’s satellite campus in southeast Davidson County can now turn their associate degree into a bachelor’s degree from Middle Tennessee State University — without the commute.
The successor to Hickory Hollow Mall, Global Mall at the Crossings, is now open.

Feeding a demand in southeast Davidson County, Metro Nashville Public Schools is planning to expand the International Baccalaureate education program to Antioch High School.
Yesterday was a great day for Southeast Davidson County and the City of Nashville with Nashville State Community College's ribbon cutting ceremony of their newest campus in Crossings Nashville.
The college purchased the former Dillards buildinig in the old Hickory Hollow Mall and transformed it into a state of the art campus that will house 3,000 students plus faculty and adminstative staff.
This is a key momement in the revitalization of this part of Nashville and along with HCA's new $200 million dollar data center and the Metro's new regional Library, Recreation Center, and Park this area is well on its way to a new and brighter future.

Metro officials have planned Nashville’s second installment of bus rapid transit “lite” to go along Murfreesboro Pike, with the faster, more efficient bus service perhaps coming to the southeastern Davidson County corridor by spring 2013. .....
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Metro Planning Department will give the public an opportunity to weigh in on the Antioch-Priest Lake Community Plan.
The kickoff meeting will be held Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lakeshore Christian Church on Bell Forge Lane. Planners will explain the update process and hear initial public comments.
Antioch has taken hits with the loss of big name stores at Hickory Hollow Mall, but city leaders said the community is in for a big turnaround. The Crossings is the new name for the once Hickory Hollow area........
