 This is our list of books we feel any lover of Victorian Homes should own: Most of these books are available through major booksellers but you can also find the obscure ones on Ebay:

 

Field Guide to American Houses by Lee and Virginia McAllister, Alfred Knopf Publisher. This is the bible of Old house architecture and a quick primer on architectural styles within the Victorian Era

Turn of the Century Houses,Cottages and Villas by R.W.Shoppell et all, DOVER Press. Great sources book

Victorian House Designs in Authentic Full Color edited by Blanche Cirker. DOVER PRESS. Wonderful book on floorplans

Victorian City and Country Houses plans and details, by Geo Woodward, DOVER PRESS, Variety of period designs.

Victorian Houses, A Treasury of Lesser Known Examples, by Edmund V Gillon and Clay Landcaster, DOVER PRESS, Great B&W book on architecture

Victorian Glory in San Franciso and the Bay area by Paul Duchscherer and Douglas Keister, published by Penguin group. Great resource book on Bay Area Painted Ladies and Interiors

America's Painted Ladies by Elizabeth Pomade and Michael Larsen, published by Viking Studios/penguin Group. Fabulous Collection of Victorian homes 

Victorian Interior Decoration, American Interiors 1830-1900 by Gail Caskey Winkler and Roger W Moss pulished by Henry Holt and Co. Long out of print, but you can find this on ebay from time to time this is a great early book on Victorian interiors.
