Strawberries & Strawberry Syrup
Clean, Hull & Cut 2 lbs of fresh Strawberries into a bowl the night before you make your cake. Add 1 cup of Sugar to the Strawberries, mix, and leave alone over night.
In the morning, strain the liquid into a saucepan. Place the saucepan over medium heat, and let the Strawberry juice reduce down to a thicker syrup.
Meanwhile, take a potatoe masher and mash the strawberries into eatable/chucky pieces.
You now have Strawberry Syrup & Mashed Strawberries
1 3/4 Cups Cake Flour
*To make Cake Flour sift 1 3/4 Cups of reg. flour with 1/4 Cup cornstarch.
1 1/4 Cups All Purpose Flour
2 Cups of Sugar
1 Tbl Baking Powder
3/4 Tsp Salt
1 Cup of Butter
1 Tsp Vanilla
1 Cup Mashed Strawberries
1/4 Cup Strawberry Syrup
1 Can of Whipped Vanilla Frosting
Remaining Strawberry Syrup
Remaining Mashed Strawberries
Juice from 1 Lemon
