Urban/Indoor Chicken Coops

The Sustainability Workshop is currently studying indoor/urban chicken handling in an attempt to create a protocol for municipalities that will facilitate widespread incorporation of fowl into urban farming.

Of primary concern is cleanliness, and the idea that design and standard options can help people maintain sanitary conditions with a minimal cost burden.  Though variations will not be discouraged, a basic and fundamental design will be offered which strives to keep costs low and performance high.  The performance required will satisfy municipal requirements and be a benchmark for approval of alternative designs.
