Our Halloween Marathon continued; this one is Word Association with a twist-- to

      capture the full mood of a horror story in a single paragraph.

I can’t look behind me. I know he’s there. I can feel his breath on the back of my neck. Or is that the wind? There is nothing in front of me, an empty corner. I swear it was a shadow just before. The screen door bangs the wall downstairs. Did the phone ring a minute ago? Was that scratching just the cat? I know he’s here. The wind on my neck grows warmer. I can’t look behind me.
