The truth will set you free, but first it will make you miserable
His story is too long to tell. Years from now volumes and volumes will probably be written, but today we just want to remember a man who represented, above all, good virtues to us all.
Leomir Richard Barov was born into a wealthy criminal family. He hated his clan's ways of dealing with things and soon ran away from home with his first and last love who would later become his wife and the mother of his four children.
About the only thing he had in common with his parents, was Leo's surname which he never changed despite the negative memories it brought to him. He soon became a cavalier of the Royal Guard of Lordaeron and within 20 years rose to become Leomir, the Duke Lionheart. His legend, the Lion's Tale, was known among humans for more than two decades and written forms of it can still be found in human libraries.
The Duke was a devout monarchist and the only passion in his life that came even close to his will of protecting the kingdom was a new teaching that came around when he was well into his seventies - the teachings of Light. Power based on virtues such as honor, faith and valiance that came not from a god or from cosmos but from you alone was something that finally completed the Duke's life once and for all.
His journey through life was an amazing mix of adventure, stability, politics, war, and peace.
After the Third War, he moved to Stormwind where within two years he was made the Earl and Magister of the city. Leo developed a friendship with some of the most influential people in the world such as Archbishop Benedictus (Jarl) and King Varian Wrynn.
Mr. Barov worked as a head of the External Affairs Department of the Holy Church of Light and later as a member of the Inquisitional Court of the Church and was awarded the Cross of Light of the First Degree.
A patron of the arts and social projects, Leomir Barov was the sponsor of The Stormwind Times and The Two Lion's Tavern as well as the CEO of the Lion's Trade Inc.
A year ago, the Earl made an acquaintance that would turn out to be fatal to him - Mr. Thorlamor Silverbeard. The merchant was a clever man. Clever enough to trick the experienced, but old, Duke Lionheart himself.
We will never forget you: husband, father, uncle, judge, preacher, warrior, leader. May your soul find rest.
