Freedom of Speech Alert

 Journalist Investigator Arrested

On Wednesday, July 30th at 5:00am, two armed men in full gear broke into the house of Elisabeth Windsor, the popular Stormwind Times journalist investigator, and arrested her for "breaking into the secret archives of the Royal Libraries of the Kingdom of Stormwind, the Kingdom of Khaz Modan, and theft of personal documents of Baron Revilgaz from the Bank of Booty Bay". The two apes, who were seen breaking Ms. Windsor's house door, turned out to be SCPD (Stormwind City Police Department) officials and refused to answer questions.

In the SCPD HQ all we were told was that the warrant was signed by some young, newly-appointed Stormwind judge. The SCPD refused to give away his or her name.

We then went to RIA (Royal Intelligence Agency) HQ but they said their agency has no information on this case and it is beyond their jurisdiction.

Finally, with no apparent chances elsewhere, our crew headed for the Secretariat of the Earl of Stormwind, the Duke Leomir Barov at his residence on 3 Baker Street. The Earl told us that the investigation is confidential and even if he did have any information on it he could not share with us. He also stated that if the judge issued a warrant then he must have had a reason to do so and Mr. Barov is not planning on interfering in this "independent case".

Allow us to remind, that the Earl of Stormwind has a right to grant amnesty to Ms. Windsor who was, obviously, arrested for political reasons.

  • Ms. Windsor's arrest took place right after Edition II came out which published scandalous information on a terribly rich and powerful businessman (and murderer) Thorlamor Silverbeard.
  • In her Journalist Investigation, Ms. Windsor found out that Silverbeard lied about his past and that it is darker than anyone would think.
  • Silverbeard probably realized that not doing anything about Elisabeth would allow her to find more information and publish it, which would cause the end of his career.
  • Silverbeard has enough money to bribe almost any official, especially a young inexperienced judge who doesn't get paid more than a few gold a day.
  • Silverbeard has great connections in the government that would allow him to deal with anyone if he wanted to.
  • The SCPD couldn't have possibly complete an investigation in 7 hours between the publishing of the paper and the arrest of Elisabeth Windsor.
  • All the sources our colleague used were available to anyone who knew how to look for them and she did not break any laws in the process.
  • The arrest was COMPLETELY POLITICAL with a goal to LIMIT THE FREEDOM OF SPEECH.
  • We demand from Duke Leomir Barov to use his right of amnesty to free the innocent writer!
Dear Mr. Barov,
We know you had nothing to do with this and we know you'd like to think that everyone's intentions are as good as yours but...
There is corruption and it is obvious. If you don't do something about it then your name will be on the pages of history as a man who could but did not prevent injustice from taking place!
