Book Review for Splintered

By Katelyn Jensen

Splintered by A.G. Howard is a fantasy/fiction story starring Alyssa Gardner, a girl who's mother has been put in a mental hospital for hearing voices and having conversations with bugs and flowers. Alyssa's great great grandmother is Alice, commonly known from Alice in Wonderland. Alyssa starts a journey to Wonderland, and begins fixing the problems Alice created on her visit in Wonderland in order to rescue her mother from getting mentally zapped. She meets up with a childhood friend, an inhuman friend. Together they go on adventures and save lives, one of which was hers. I really loved this book because it gave a wonderful twist to the "Alice in Wonderland" story and managed to entwine a romance into the already complex storyline.
