The Samuel and Ruth Song Foundation

The Samuel and Ruth Song Foundation, a non-profit religious organization, announces scholarship grants to individuals for the purpose of assisting them pursue advanced education that will help them become Christian role models and to support the outreach of bettering the community with a foundation of Christian ideals.

The Foundation intends to distribute twenty (20) individual grants in the amount of One Thousand Dollars ($1000) each annually.

Any student pursuing post-secondary education is eligible to apply.  This includes a student pursuing college, technical/vocational training, or graduate school currently enrolled. There is a minimum class requirement of 2 class equivalent or 6 class units during the Fall of 2020.

Applicants will be selected based on merit, their financial need, and their demonstrated historic and intended Christian pursuits and aspirations.

Selected recipient selection will be based on:

  • Academic history
  • Church relationships and history
  • Work experience and volunteer/extra-curricular activities
  • Financial need
  • Application and essays regarding the applicant's history of faith and an explanation of the applicant's future plans, including Christian goals and aspirations, as well as an assessment of his/her perceived call to future activities.

Applicants may be pursuing degrees in any field.  A focus on religious study is not a requirement.

If selected as a scholarship award recipient, official transcripts will be required to verify the minimum class requirement of 2 class equivalent or 6 class units during the Fall of 2020.

To be considered for scholarships awarded in January of 2020, completed applications will be accepted beginning September 1, 2018 until November 31, 2020.  Applications must be received via e-mail by 11:59 PM on November 31.  Scholarship award applications will be notified before the end of January 2020.
