I am a geologist interested in the fields of tectonics and geomorphology. Most of my research involves the development of topography in active and ancient mountain belts. To understand how topography evolves on a range time-scales (centuries to millions of years), I combine field studies, geochronology, geographic information systems (GIS), and numerical modeling.

Some of my current and past research projects include:

  • Evaluating the role of earthquakes in orogen-scale denudation
  • The tectonic geomorphology, paleoseismology and geodynamics of the Hellenic subduction zone
  • Late Cenozoic topographic evolution of the southern Appalachians
  • Tertiary terrane translations in the Northern Cordillera
