The Roots of Deduction team is now complete: Leon Geerdink will be joining us as the project's PhD student. Leon is now finishing his Master's thesis in philosophy in Utrecht, under the supervision of Albert Visser and Paul Ziche, and will join the project in September 2012. He will focus on the interface between the philosophical and cognitive implications of the built-in opponent conception of deduction, drawing significantly on the literature on the psychology of reasoning, mathematical cognition and the cognitive science of reasoning.
Welcome on board, Leon!

Roots of Deduction has found its post-doc! It is my pleasure to announce that Matthew Duncombe has accepted the offer to become the post-doc in charge of the historical sub-project within RoD. Matthew is finishing a PhD in Classics in Cambridge, under the supervision of David Sedley, and will join the project and the Faculty of Philosophy in Groningen on September 2012.
