It is with regret that the 'Rex Players' have now been dissolved as a result of a vote at the recent special meeting on the 20th June 2019.

We would like to thank all those who have supported us over the years, and shared so many happy moments.
Rex Players Committee 25.06.2019

Welcome to the Rex Players

The Rex Players were formed in 1996, when a few adventurous Wareham people put on an evening’s entertainment at the Rex Cinema. The idea took off and the show has gone from strength to strength, in recent years playing to full houses for five nights.  Like the Wareham Carnival and the Purbeck Film Festival, the Rex Show has become part of the local calendar. Over the years the Rex Players have raised some £40,000 for local causes.  As a variety show, with a large cast and everyone doing what they’re best at, it’s a highly entertaining evening. Thanks to strong teamwork and a dedicated backstage crew, the show is fast moving as well as fun.

We always need people with ideas for the next show, performers prepared to sing, dance, act or make fools of themselves, speciality acts, musicians, people behind the scenes, front-of-house staff, committee members etc. If you are 16 or over and would like to get involved, you’ll be warmly welcomed.

Why not have a look at some of our previous shows

We always welcome new members, so if you would like to join us please contact Judy Wheeldon by email at rexplayers@googlemail.com or phone 01929 552092
