Rev. Valerie Doering Crisman, M.Div., Pastor
Valerie and her family have been attending Pilgrim since 2006. She was ordained to the youth pastor position at Pilgrim in 2009 and has served as co-pastor and pastor since 2015. A native Chicagoan, Valerie served as a volunteer chaplain at a homeless shelter on Chicago’s west side for two years prior to moving to the Boston area. She also served as a Volunteer Youth Minister in Juneau, Alaska through the Presbyterian Church’s Young Adult Volunteer Program. Valerie loves children and teens with a passion. Teaching, preaching, and mercy ministry are her particular strengths. Valerie received a B.S. in social work from Loyola University Chicago and her M.Div. from McCormick Theological Seminary. Valerie is married, has 3 children, and has been a foster parent for several years. She is an avid reader and gardener.
