Agua del Pueblo (AdP) has recently completed water project designs of three more communities. The first is La Estancia in Joyabaj, El Quiche.  We originally worked in Joyabaj following the earthquake in 1976 that killed 30,000.  Joyabaj was one of
the municipalities that was hardest hit.  The proposed project is a pumping project from a spring.  162 families have asked AdP to help.  The preliminary cost estimate is $173,000.
The second is for 152 families in Montenegro, Barillas, Huehuetenango.  Father Bill Woods lived in Barrillas and encouraged AdP to get involved.  This is a gravity fed project.  The estimated cost is $117,000.
The third projects for Colima I, San Pablo, San Marcos.  This is the largest project for 266 families at an estimated cost of $387,000.  As far as cost per person, this project is quite effective!  Maintenance costs will be minimal with a spring fed gravity system.
