Who are We?

The Old 1862 Ranch was originally settled in 1862 and since

that time has been a dairy, a sheep and cow ranch and now is

a hay ranch and farm. It is currently owned by Jim and Jan

Loverin, who have lovingly updated the 1930's style house

and maintained the historic buildings.  They have researched

the property and have talked with previous owners who have

shared histories and personal stories.  The Loverins continue to

love and cherish this ranch land and strive to enhance the

natural beauty of this amazing valley.

Our Garden

Our farm grows a wide variety of vegetables.  This year we are

growing  8 different varieties of tomatoes, garlic, onions,

rhubarb, spinach, delicata winter squash, eggplant, summer

squash, corn, french fingerling potatoes, romanesco,

watermelons, peppers and herbs! This year we will be hosting

our Farm-to-Table Dinner on Saturday,  September 15th.  The

evening promises to be delightful with agri-tours of our

farming and ranching operation and cocktails at 5 PM, then a gourmet dinner and wine at 6:30 PM.  Enjoy the rest of the

evening in a game of horshoes, sit leisurely under the

grapevine or swing on the front porch. Come and enjoy the

natural beauty of Long Valley and the historic Old 1862 Ranch

 on Saturday, September 15, 2018.

With 80 acres of natural pastureland, we sell high quality

orchard grass.  All of our grass and vegetables are irrigated

with  natural pure Sierra water.
