The Next Blues Band was formed in 1991 by Chicago native Bill Bouchard after his arrival in Monterey, California.

The band has been delivering their brand of Blues around the Central Coast from San Jose to Santa Barbara for over 20 years. Performing in clubs and at concerts such as, Monterey Blues Festival, and Seaside's Blues in the Park.

Bill's first introduction to the Blues came to him while attending college in Chicago in the early '70's. While hanging out in local Blue's clubs, Bill was exposed to some amazing legends, such as Howlin' Wolf, Buddy Guy, Junior Wells, and many more. For Bill, this developed his true love and passion for the Blues.

The Next Blues Band is at home with performing on both large festival stages, and in small clubs. They have appeared at the Monterey Bay Blues Festival three times, and, over the years the band has played in the City of Seaside's Annual "Blues in the Park" concert series. Having the honor to open for people like, Harvey Mandel, Nick Gravinites, Guitar Shorty, Li'l Ed, Coco Montoya, and Tommy Castro to name a few.

While there have been a few personel changes over the years, the instrumentation has remained the same. "Chicago Bill" on Lead Vocals and Bass Guitar, accompanied by  Guitar, Drums, and Saxophone.  The current line up consisting of Jim Spangler  on Guitar, Alan Fox on Drums, and Michael Curtin on Saxophone; help build and deliver the authentic traditional sound of Chicago Blues.

Remaining a crowd pleaser around the Monterey Bay area for over 20 years has enabled The Next Blues Band to continue to do what they LOVE.... Sharing good times, good music, and a devoted love of the Blues, and they are not planning on stopping anytime soon.
