Banned Books Week Cart, 4th Floor of Rosenberg Library!

NATIONAL BANNED BOOKS WEEK IS SEPTEMBER 24TH THROUGH OCTOBER 1ST , 2011

It's National Banned Books Week!  I have put together a cart of books that have been banned or "challenged" in the United States.  National Banned Books Week reminds us how important it is to maintain freedom of speech and thought in the United States and everywhere in the world.

The Banned Books Week cart is on display at the main entrance of Rosenberg Library during National Banned Books Week, September 24th through October 1st.  And yes, you can check out the banned books!  Also, watch for library staff wearing a button that proudly proclaims I READ BANNED BOOKS.

Want to learn more about National Banned Books Week?  Visit the CCSF Library webpage and click on the link on the right-hand side of the page, or just click here:  National Banned Books Week 2011.

ESL CLASS RESOURCES

If you are in Professor Nicki Trahan's ESL 150 or 160 Class, I have FOUR important links for you.

The first link and second links are to a study sheet that you will need for class on October 4th (for ESL 150) and October 26th (for ESL 160).  I will bring copies of this sheet to class, so you do NOT need to print it.  I am putting the sheet on this website so that if you miss class, you can still have it!

The second link is to a YouTube video that shows you how to register for a FREE EbscoHost account.  ESL 150 STUDENTS:  PLEASE REGISTER FOR A FREE EBSCOHOST ACCOUNT BEFORE OCTOBER 4TH.  ESL 160 STUDENTS:  PLEASE REGISTER FOR A FREE EBSCOHOST ACCOUNT BEFORE OCTOBER 26TH.

The third link is a "quick guide" video that shows you how to use the EbsoHost database for research. It does NOT have sound.  The video shows only the BASICS of the EbscoHost database.  I uploaded this video for two reasons:  (1) To help you remember what we learn in class about using this database and (2) To help you if you missed class.

If you need more help, please email me at dbradford@ccsf.edu.

Thanks!
