Christmas 2018 Status:
Jessica (25) - Still working at the Ada County Sheriff's office in the IT department. She is in charge of the mobile computers that the police/fire dept use. She makes sure they are always operational for our safety. Jessica is an instructor at a local Kenpo studio and is taking Jiu Jitsu to further her martial arts repertoire. She has competed in a number of grappling events and recently took first place!
Sam (21) - Senior at the University of Idaho majoring in Actuarial Science with minors in Computer Science and Statistics. Because of his change in majors this past fall, he will have to take another semester of classes in the fall of 2019, so he will not be graduating this spring. Sam continues to tutor Calculus in his "free" time (with 20 credits, who really has free time???) and enjoys hiking and reading...a lot!
Ken (19) - Did not return to University of Idaho in the fall, but instead is taking a break and working while he figures out his next phase in life. He's living in Boise with his dad at the current time, but wants to move to Salt Lake City, establish residency and attend the University of Utah in the future. It will be interesting next year when I update this website to see where his is and what he's doing.
Tim & Kristin - Tim left Scentsy to work for a local company called Ministry Brands where he works on the Fellowship One team. He works from home on the lower floor with a beautiful view of the lake. Kristin works part-time at Gwin Realty as the receptionist, is in charge of Technology at our church (Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church) and is the secretary on the Fairfield Glade Dog Park Board. We are loving Tennessee and enjoying everything from rain, to more rain, to golfing between raindrops, to hiking in the rain and an occasional SUNNY day where we hop on the pontoon boat or go play a round of golf and forget about all the rain (did I mention it rains?).
Our year in a nutshell - We started all outdoor activities as early as March (golf, kayaking, boating, hiking, etc), visited the Biltmore in Asheville, NC TWICE (once in October and once at Christmas), drove to Tryg's in Easton, PA for Easter, had visits from Sam & Ken at Spring Break (March) and Summer Break (June), we met up with Jessica in St Louis to visit some of her relatives and then hooked up with her grandma (Janet) back in TN in late July, Kristin flew to Idaho in August before Sam started school and saw both Sam and Ken, Tryg visited in October, and all 3 kids visited for 2 weeks over Christmas and Tryg stopped in for a couple of days! We had a wonderful time and even had our first family photos taken in our back yard! In October, Tim and Kristin went to the PGA Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta where we saw all of the golf pros we usually only see on TV! It was 3 wonderfully beautiful days! Kristin played pickle ball in the spring, played in a women's golf league all summer and ran the Smokey Mountain 1/2 Marathon in September, while Tim continues to play in a golf league that plays on Saturdays where they all hit from the BLUE tees (furthest tees), and he maintains a 5 handicap. He played in a few golf tournaments this year and did very well! We both even played in a Scramble tournament with our neighbor friends, Debbie & Simon Goodwin in November, and won our flight, BOTH raffles, and the 50/50 (check out the photo in the photo album)! We've been hiking and golfing and swimming and boating and running and playing since we moved in. We're busier than ever!
If you are ever in the area, please email Kristin and come for a visit! We'd love to have you as our guest!
