The Jha’Kyric Nixon Scholarship Fund was established in January 2012 to honor the memory of Jha’Kyric Nixon who passed away at the untimely age of 17. Jha’Kyric lived his faith not just with his words, but by his actions: “He could talk the talk. But, he also walked the walk.” He was known for his uncanny ability to inspire people through his love for life and living.
Jha'Kyric's mother was inspired by the overwhelming outpouring of support following her son’s death. Many people wanted to help keep his memory alive and pay tribute to Jha’Kyric. The family started looking at ways of establishing a scholarship fund in his name. What started as informal fundraising efforts culminated in a formal agreement by the Irving Bible Church to act as a fiscal sponsor for a scholarship fund named after Jha’Kyric Nixon.
Thank you and be blessed!
