Frederick Channell is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Bridgewater State University. He received Departmental Honors for his work on various research projects throughout his undergraduate college career. He was inducted into the Phi Alpha Theta National Honors society for historians. He later received the Vera and Andrew J. Laska Award from the New England History Teachers Association in 2011. He holds a Massachusetts license to teach secondary history. In 2013 he earned a Masters Degree from the University of Massachusetts in Boston.
 
Frederick is past president of the South Shore Genealogical Society, giving seminars himself on genealogical research methods. Many of these methods are described in his book, The Immortal Patriot.
 
Frederick is an avid skier and mountain climber in the Green Mountains of Vermont.
He is a licensed scuba diver and has done dives on wrecks in Massachusetts, Bermuda, and Mexico.
 
Through the adventure of discovery in two nations, and in the woods and open water of the Atlantic, Fred has written the most comprehensive book on the life of a veteran of the American Revolution. One of just a few to have his photographed image survive into the modern time.
