Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have a "real"vet on staff to perform surgery?
YES!  Our Veterinarian is Dr. Kristen Grimes.  She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University.

Why are your prices cheaper than other vetarinary practices?
Because we are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, we are eligible to receive grant funding from animal welfare organizations.  We also have several fundraisers each year, and we ask for donations from our supporters and local animal advocacy and rescue groups.  We use this funding to reduce our costs, offering pet owners an affordable option to spay/neuter.

Can you HELP me re-home a stray pet?
No.  We are a veterinary service provider of surgery only.  You may view the OUR PARTNERS page to contact a local rescue group for assistance.

Can I bring my pet in for vaccines/testing only?
We only offer vaccines/testing at the time of surgery, or at our vaccine clinic (see Vaccine Clinic Days page).  We focus on surgery patients Monday-Thursday, and see non-surgery patients for routine vaccines only at our scheduled vaccine clinic.  We NEVER see sick or injured pets.

Do you give a multi-pet discount?
No.  As a low-cost, non-profit spay/neuter clinic, our prices are as low as we are able to offer per pet.  The only exceptions are families that qualify for financial assistance, or if we have a special grant that allows us to temporarily offer a reduced fee.

My pet has never been away from me.  Can I pick my pet up the same day?
Due to volume, all patients stay overnight Monday-Wednesday.  On Thursdays, we do fewer surgeries, and we offer same-day release.  If the doctor has a medical concern, we will contact you.  Otherwise, know that we have tucked them in, kissed them for you, and reminded them you will be back in the morning.

Can I stop by to purchase Heartgard?
We are only able to offer Heartgard to pets that have been seen here recently, and that have received a negative heartworm test result.  Pets with no proof of purchase of preventions from us within 30 days of a heartworm test must re-test prior to being issued a prescription medication.  (Please come between 10-12 or 2-4, and avoid checkin/checkout times for routine purchases.)

Can I stop by to purchase Nexgard?
If we have seen your pet within the last 30 days, or if you have proof of a prescription within 30 days, we will fill/refill your prescription here.  (Please come between 10-12 or 2-4, and avoid checkin/checkout times for routine purchases.)

Can you write me a prescription for medication?
No.  You may purchase Heartgard or Nexgard here, or you may order online.  If you order online, that company will fax us for approval.  If you would like to purchase at another local pharmacy, please contact us.  (Please come between 10-12 or 2-4, and avoid checkin/checkout times for routine purchases.)

Can I stop by to purchase Frontline?
Yes, anyone can purchase Frontline.  (Please come between 10-12 or 2-4, and avoid checkin/checkout times for routine purchases.)
