The Japanese pottery of Hagi-yaki

Out of my love of tea has sprung a love for tea ware, but I adore no category more than Hagi ware.    This page is going to serve as a place to document my hagi collection, although  limited now, will hopefully be ever expanding.

Hagi ware can be traced back to  Korean artists who were brought to Japan when the two countries were at war. The pottery style has developed into one of the most widely acclaimed pottery styles for Japanese tea drinkers.  Hagi ware has developed a rich cultural history, and I hope to learn more about it, and spread the knowledge I learn through this site.

Here is a picture of the Hagi that started it all, my first Hagi a Teachat special offer and also one of the famous Seigan blue glazed Hagi.
