The Greek School of Glasgow accepts pre-School age children in its Nursery (*) section, while pupils who attend a day School in Scotland, are admitted at the appropriate level of either the Primary or Secondary levels.  The Greek School of Glasgow caters for three main groups of children:
  • children who learn Greek as a second language (i.e. of Greek parentage and born outside Greece)
  • children who learn Greek as a mother tongue (i.e. children born and partly educated in Greece), and
  • adults, irrespective of nationality, who have a desire to learn the language and earn a formal European-standard qualification

This organisational and academic structure can be seen in a simple graphic representation by accessing the relevant document here (PDF reader required)

(*) At the time of this update (1st September), it is not clear if a Nursery facility will be offered in session 2018/2019.

The fees for the school year 2018/2019 will remain the same as last year and are as follows:

-One child attending once a week = £260

-10% discount on the £260 for all additional children thereafter, i.e. £234

All fees MUST be paid in either one single payment or two instalments, i.e if one child is attending then either one instalment of £260 or two separate instalments of £130.

If the fees are being paid in two instalments, please note these deadlines:

-First instalment by the 8th September 2018 (start date of term 1)

-Second instalment by the start of term 2 in January 2019

Payment MUST be made by electronic bank transfer or deposited directly into the account at your local branch. The details of the account are as follows:

Bank: TSB, Account name: Greek School of Glasgow Committee, Sort code: 30-25-83, Account number: 12010660

As a reference, please provide your child's name.

If there is any confusion with regards to the above or you are unable to pay by the above methods then please do not hesitate to either speak or email the School Treasurer at

Please be aware that our teacher's salaries are dependent on school fees being paid on time.  The School Committee thank you for your cooperation and looks forward to another successful year ahead.

Children should be dropped off and collected from their class door where the teacher will sign them in and out. Please do not enter your child’s classroom. This does not apply to older children where parents/carers allow them to come and go on their own.

Please drop-off and collect your children promptly. Teachers are only responsible for children during class times, so please do not arrive early.

There is an afternoon class taking place in the Hall this term, and unfortunately parents/carers will not be able to use the hall after 12pm. Parents/carers are welcome to wait in the main worshipping area of the Cathedral.

No food is permitted in class but please give your child a drink for the classroom. For younger children please provide a drinking cup that doesn’t spill. Please make sure your child has something to eat before they come to class.

Birthday cakes and sharing snacks are not permitted and teachers will not give these out either in class or in the hall.

There will be two teacher-parent/carer meetings, one in November and one in March. Dates will be confirmed nearer the time.

Parking controls are in force outside the church. You must either park outside the zone or pay for parking. Traffic wardens do patrol the area.
